FAQ

1. How is the artist protected?
Oceanside states on their website that the provided patterns are for personal use only. To use a pattern in any other capacity, you must contact the artist directly. See Oceansides pattern policy HERE.

2. How do I enter the contest?
Submit your PDF pattern to the Google Doc that will be accessible from July 1 to August 1. After the submission period ends, the patterns will be made available for the public to vote on which one they want to see included in the Oceanside online pattern resource. Note that we will post screenshots of the patterns for voting, not the PDFs themselves.

3. What is the prize?
The winner of the pattern contest will receive a glass prize provided by Oceanside Glass and Tile. This giveaway is hosted by Lucent Glass in collaboration with Oceanside. Please note that Lucent Glass is not supplying the prize. Any shipping costs will be determined at the time of shipping and may be the responsibility of the winner.

4. Can my pattern be hand drawn?
We unfortunately cannot accept hand drawn patterns at this time, we kindly request that you submit your pattern as a PDF. Please be aware that we may need to make some adjustments to the branding on the PDF. Entries that are not digital drawn and submitted by a PDF will not be able to be considered. Thank you for your understanding.

5. What design program do you recommend?
We have observed that Adobe Illustrator and Procreate on the iPad are popular and reputable drawing programs for creating PDFs. While there are many different programs available, we encourage you to find the one that best suits your needs!

6. How many pieces can my design have?
Please design your patterns to fit within an 11"x17" tabloid print or a standard 8.5"x11" letter paper, and limit the quantity to 50 pieces or fewer. It is important to maintain a level of professionalism in the content of your patterns. Therefore, any submissions containing nudity, drugs, or alcohol may not be considered for inclusion. We encourage you to create patterns that reflect a respectful and professional standard.

7. Where can I find the Oceanside colour codes?
Oceanside colour codes are available on their website. Click HERE to download their online catalogue.

8. Will there be another giveaway?
We look forward to continuing our quarterly partnership with Oceanside to offer engaging and fun pattern contests. Stay tuned to our social media channels for details on upcoming events and giveaways!

Please respect the creativity of other artists. If it comes to our attention that a participant has copied another artist's work, their submission will be disqualified.

Thank you for your interest in participating in our pattern contest! Best of luck to you!
